We are currently looking for Head of Trading and Operation to join the Programmatic Trading team for Xaxis Vietnam. The Programmatic Trading team at the heart of all Xaxis activity and is pivotal to the success of each campaign that is executed. We work in a close-knit pod structure to support our clients. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, enthusiastic and is able to think out of the box and do better with each execution.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Director of Xaxis Vietnam

Measures of success: 

In three months

  • Become the first point of escalation (internal & external) for all trader and product matters.
  • Mentor, guide and lead your team from both a day-to-day aspects as well as from a talent development perspective
  • Work closely with key stakeholder across the business (within GroupM) to develop and identify gaps/processes/tools to improve campaign performance and efficiency for the team
  • Gain an in depth understanding of the programmatic landscape, be trained on the various Xaxis platforms and tools and have a good understanding of how Xaxis operates
  • Be able to lead and manage programmatic campaigns independently and deliver client briefed outcomes eventually.
  • Understand each client business, media objective and the programmatic product they are currently using.


In six months

  • Incorporate and recommend other aspects of the Xaxis business including audience planning and insights, Xaxis products and Xaxis Marketplace as part of the overall campaign strategy and execution
  • Be involved with strategic planning with Engagement team and Agency


In 12 months

  • Grow your team’s account management and trading skills
  • Identify gaps and opportunities areas for your team and support them to maintain their edge and always stay ahead in the programmatic space
  • Ideation of new innovative ideas for various smart automation tools which increase trader accuracy and efficiency in times and money in a long run
  • Lead new product roll out plan for 2021 onwards.


Responsibilities of the role:

Day to day responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Manage your team members to ensure they are hitting KPIs and well-motivated
  • Improve team’s trading capabilities
  • Able to lead team to cope with frustration during transformation and need minimum supervision.




  • Work closely with technology providers/ internal teams/Xaxis regional to address and resolve process and technical issues throughout our business workflow
  • Initiate projects with tech vendors to improve overall efficiency and performance

Client Engagements

  • Review the campaign brief and align with client engagement team the programmatic media buying strategy to deliver client desired outcomes.
  • Build a trusted relationship with the respectively responsible agency clients and set up a programmatic step-by-step growth strategy by advertisers.


Trading Execution 

  • Supervise and support the campaign set up process for all campaigns within trader team, troubleshoot any tracking and discrepancy queries, and ensure campaigns are activated with accuracy and following best practice.
  • Monitoring the success of Campaigns through media analytics, KPIs, and dashboards
  • Accountable for the ongoing management of campaign budgets and daily spend levels, and constant monitoring of tracking to performance goals.
  • Identify performance trends across accounts and implement appropriate account optimization based on the insights generated.
  • Analyze ongoing results to identify campaign trends and key insights and provide thoughtful recommendations to ensure we meet and exceed client goals.
  • Demonstration of strong fundamentals of Brand Safety, Viewability and Ad fraud.
  • Execution of various type of programmatic deal types.
  • Being responsible for the knowledge transfer of regional outcome media trader training and be brave to challenge conventional solutions and wisdom.

What you will need: 

  • 5+ years professional experience with a media agency/publisher trading desk
  • Hands on experience and knowledge in programmatic optimization and account management experience
  • Team Managing Experience and good communication skills
  • Experience in DCO, Ad-serving, CPL, CPA, CPC, CPM & App installs.
  • Have experience with data and campaign analytics and insights.
  • Loves data and analysis
  • Be a resourceful and trustworthy team player
  • Be solution-oriented in all situations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Be a good communication both speaking and writing
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, both in Vietnamese and English.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, ever evolving work environment- harvest vast amounts of information, news, data, and research and distill the most important/relevant information for your agency team and their clients


  • Having experience working with agencies is highly preferable
  • Supply/Vendor Management Experience
